Hunting at Tetlin NWR

Permitted hunting categories are big game, waterfowl, upland birds, migratory birds, and small game, subject to state seasons and refuge-specific rules. Fishing is available — freshwater fishing, tidal / saltwater fishing, and shellfishing & crabbing.

Because of good air taxi service and canoe access, many hunters come to Tetlin National Wildlife Refuge to hunt moose. For hunters looking for even more adventure, a Dall sheep hunt on this refuge may be one of the most demanding trips around.
