Hunting at Cypress Creek NWR

Hunting opportunities include big game, waterfowl, wild turkey, upland birds, migratory birds, small game, and feral & exotic, subject to state seasons and refuge-specific rules. Fishing is available — freshwater fishing.

Known by many as the “Illinois Bayou,” the area that encompasses Cypress Creek National Wildlife Refuge is one of the most significant natural areas in the state. It is home to waterfowl, deer, turkey, squirrel, rabbit and other game species.
