Hunting at Malheur NWR

Permitted hunting categories are big game, waterfowl, upland birds, migratory birds, and small game, subject to state seasons and refuge-specific rules. Fishing is available — freshwater fishing.

The sagebrush country of southeast Oregon seems to stretch unbroken as far as the eye can see, but amid this dry environment is a vast wetland area – more than 187,000 acres at Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.
