Hunting at Alamosa NWR

Hunters can pursue big game, waterfowl, migratory birds, and small game here, subject to state seasons and refuge-specific rules. Fishing is available — freshwater fishing. Special youth hunting opportunities are offered.

Historically, as the Rio Grande meandered through the San Luis Valley of southern Colorado, it created numerous wetlands.
