Hunting at Chickasaw NWR

Permitted hunting categories are big game, waterfowl, wild turkey, upland birds, migratory birds, and small game, subject to state seasons and refuge-specific rules. Fishing is available — freshwater fishing. A refuge permit is required for at least some activities, in addition to your state license. Special youth hunting opportunities are offered.

The largest bottomland hardwood forest in Tennessee, Chickasaw National Wildlife Refuge has become an important wintering and stopover area for huge numbers of waterfowl.
