Hunting at Hatchie NWR

Hunting opportunities include big game, waterfowl, wild turkey, upland birds, migratory birds, and small game, subject to state seasons and refuge-specific rules. Fishing is available — freshwater fishing. A refuge permit is required for at least some activities, in addition to your state license.

The bottomland hardwood forest and cropland of Hatchie National Wildlife Refuge offer the best wildlife habitat in the area, and local hunters know this refuge holds good numbers of game species in its thick cover.
