Hunting at Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge

Hunters can pursue big game, waterfowl, wild turkey, small game, and feral & exotic here, subject to state seasons and refuge-specific rules. Fishing is available — freshwater fishing. A refuge permit is required for at least some activities, in addition to your state license.

Set among ancient granite mountains in southwest Oklahoma, Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge offers opportunities for high quality hunting on one of the oldest refuges in the nation.

While the primary purpose of refuge lakes is to provide a perennial water source for wildlife, they also provide a quality family fishing experience within a serene landscape. Fishing is permitted in all lakes in the public use section of the refuge.
